Tuning the bandgap and absorption behaviour of the newly-fabricated Ultrahigh Molecular weight Polyethylene Oxide- Polyvinyl Alcohol/ Graphene Oxide hybrid nanocomposites

Graphene nanosheets are promising nanofillers to the tunable structure, properties of materials, and optical bandgap. This search focuses on investigating new nanocomposites Ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene oxide (UHMWPEO) with different loading ratios polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) reinforced graphene (GO) by applying modified solution-sonication-casting method. Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) shows strong interfacial interaction between blended polymers GO in nanocomposites. X-Ray diffraction (XRD) reveals a significant shifting PEO reduction crystallinity. Optical microscopy (OM) images exhibit fine homogeneity polymer matrix excellent dispersal as supported scanning electron (SEM). Attractively, samples higher ratio UHMWPEO better behavior, great improvements were presented after contribution GO. UV-visible has characterized absorption, absorption coefficient, real imaginary, bandgap, other parameters. The allowed bandgap was significantly enhanced reducing up 80%, whereas forbidden improved 160% Additionally, exhibited adsorption radiation-ray, especially findings various applications could come fore: radiation protection, devices, applications.
